Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer: Detailed information

It is a joint Master’s degree program organized by Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO, headquarters are in Geneva). One benefit of this is that the study program includes international law and business aspects and therefore, graduates will be able to apply for prestigious job positions not only in Bulgaria, but abroad.

Indeed, more than ever, intellectual property rights are important – new brands and products are invented every day and there is a need of experts who can protect the rights of the creative minds of our generation. In only two semesters and by attending classes conducted entirely in English, you will be able to be one of them.

Curriculum subjects include: Patents and Innovations, Trade Marks and Industrial Designs Management, Copyright in Digital Age, Artificial Intelligence, etc. Furthermore, students will be able to take part in interesting workshops and meet guest lecturers from various European and International institutions. In total, there are 240 credits. In addition to this, students have the opportunity to take advantage of a one-year internship at EPO or the EUIPO and gain even more experience.

Successful completion of the degree includes submitting a Master’s thesis. Graduates receive a European diploma, specialization “Manager of IP and Technology Transfer” and certificates for the courses taken at the WIPO Academy and the EPO Academy.
