At the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy you can become a graduate cadet in Bachelor of Science in Naval Warfare Officer, Engineer for the Navy and Naval Communications Officer. The course lasts for five years.
Bachelor's degree programmes at Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy include Navigation, Ship Power Plants, Electrical Engineering as well as Administration and management. International students must take part in a preparatory course in English, Bulgarian, Maths and Physics that lasts for nine months. Each Bachelor's degree at the Naval Academy takes up to four years (excluing the preparatory course). At the end of each study programme students at the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy are required to sit state exams. At the end, students from Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy obtain a Bachelor of Science degree.
Master's degree programmes at the Naval Academy in Varna include Navigation, Information and communication technologies in marine industry, Port management, Marine engineering, Ship repair, Logistics. The duration of the programmes is between one to three years. Students obtain a Master of Science degree.

What are the tuition fees at Naval Academy Nikola Vaptsarov?
The tuition fees for non-EU students who wish to study a Bachelor's or a Master's degree programme in the branch "Transport, shipping and aviation" at the Naval Academy Nikola Vaptsarov are 3000 Euro for full-time students or 1750 Euro for extra-mural studies per academic year. Students are required to participate in a nine-month preparatory course in Bulgarian, English, Physics and Mathematics. The same tuition fees are for non-EU students at the Naval Academy in Varna who are enrolled in a PhD programme.
Students whose home country is a member state of the European Union are allowed to study at Naval Academy Nikola Vaptsarov in exchange for the tuition fees of 2000 Euro per academic year for full-time students and 1000 Euro per annum for extra-mural students at the Naval Academy.
The language course at Naval Academy Nikola Vaptsarov in Varna is 3000 Euro per academic year.
The tuition fees can be paid in one or two installments and must be paid on time. Exceptions are not made.
People who study at Naval Academy Nikola Vaptsarov and have a dual citizenship (and one of them is Bulgarian) pay only half of the tuition fees.
