Pécs is the fifth largest city in Hungary – its population amounts to roughly 145 000. It is located in the southwest part of the country, near the border of Serbia and Croatia and about 200 km away from the capital city Budapest. Nearby airports include the airports in Budapest, Szeged and Zagreb. The excellent location of the city allows locals and foreigners to travel and visit different countries and sceneries in their free time!

Pécs is an ancient city founded in the 2nd century and it attracts everyone who is interested in exploring fascinating cultural and historical monuments and admiring scenic views. Famous sightseeing places include Széchenyi tér (the central square), the Mosque of Pasha Qasim, Pécs Cathedral, the Early Christian Necropolis of Pécs, and the Synagogue. 

The city is also hosting many festivals and events such as POSZT (National Theatre Meeting in Pécs) and Sétatér Fesztivál. In your free time we also recommend going for a walk along Király and Irgalmasok streets – grab a coffee or buy a souvenir from the small cozy shops and simply enjoy the lovely atmosphere of Pécs!
