One of the leading medical universities in Bulgaria, Trakia University, has announced more information about the admission requirements, entrance exam dates and 2025 ranking day for people applying for Medicine or Veterinary Medicine in English in 2025.

Exam subjects and fees:

• Students who want to apply for the Medicine course must sit an entry exam in Biology and Chemistry. 
• Students interested in the Veterinary Medicine course must sit an entry exam only in Biology. 
• Additionally, applicants sit an exam in English. Only students who have citizenship in a country where English is the official language do not have to sit the English exam.
• The entrance test fee is 70 EUR for each exam subject.

Exam dates and location:

• The entry exams take place online. The dates are as follows:
• First session: 7 June 2025 (English), 8 June 2025 (Biology and Chemistry)
• Second session: 26 July 2025 (English), 27 July 2025 (Biology and Chemistry)
• Third session: 23 August 2025 (English), 24 August 2025 (Biology and Chemistry)

Ranking day and formula:

• All applicants are ranked according to their results. The intake at Trakia University is about 100 people for Medicine in English and about 60 – for Veterinary Medicine in English.
• The first ranking will be announced on the 27th of August 2025 with the following formula:
  Medicine ranking formula: The marks from the entry tests are doubled and added to the marks in Chemistry and Biology from the Secondary School Leaving Certificate
  Chemistry ranking formula: The mark from the entry test is doubled and added to the marks in Chemistry and Biology from the Secondary School Leaving Certificate

Application procedure:

• Students need to submit a set of application documents to Trakia University.
• Some of the application documents need to go through legalization and translation in order to meet the requirements of the university.
• The deadlines to submit the documents to the university are 1 July 2025 for non-EU applicants and 23 August 2025 for EU/EEA applicants.
