Bulgarian academic delegation in Morocco
How exciting!
Did you know that from 27 to 30 January 2025, Bulgarian academic delegation visited Morocco to strengthen the academic ties and to implement the Three-Year Cooperation Program (2024-2026) in education, science, culture and sports between both countries. The cooperation program officially started on January 10, 2024 – the date the Information Center for Bulgarian Higher Education was founded in Rabat, Morocco, with the support of Trakia University in Bulgaria.

Inter HECS Study in Bulgaria Ltd. played a key role in organizing and conducting the events, actively contributing to their implementation. We are thrilled to announce that our Manager, Dimitar Tsikandelov, took part in the official meeting with the Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Morocco, Prof. Azzedine El Midaoui. Furthermore, as a co-organizer, the Information Center for Bulgarian Higher Education in Rabat strengthened its importance as a platform for academic cooperation and promotion of educational opportunities.
The Bulgarian academic delegation included: – Aca. Prof. Nikolay Vitanov – Deputy Minister of Education and Science and head of the delegation; – Prof. Georgi Valchev – Rector of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski – Prof. Veselina Goranova – Marinova – Vice Rector of Educational Activities at Plovdiv Medical University – Prof. Elena Firkova – Vice-Dean for International Cooperation and Student Integration at Plovdiv Medical University – Prof. Dobri Yarkov – Rector of Trakia University – Stara Zagora – Prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov – coordinator for Bulgarian universities and former rector of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski
During their stay in Morocco, the different representatives of Bulgarian higher education visited National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (UATRS) and two different universities – Mohamed V University of Rabat and the International University of Rabat.
Furthermore, meetings were held with the Minister of National Education of Morocco as well as with the Directorate of Higher Education and the Directorate of Research and Innovation.
The following topics were discussed: – necessary documents and criteria required by the Moroccan side for the provision of scholarships for Bulgarian students as part of the 2024 – 2026 Cooperation program in the field of education, higher education, scientific research, culture, communication, youth and sports between Bulgaria and Morocco for the period 2024-2026; – the possibility of conducting one or two-year training of Bulgarian universities in the Kingdom of Morocco; – diploma recognition of Bulgarian universities in the Kingdom of Morocco; – launch of joint programs in the field of professional training between the two countries;
We are happy to see the academic relationships between Bulgaria and Morocco being strengthened over the years and we look forward to offering many educational opportunities to both, Bulgarian and Moroccan students!
